Looking forward to spring, JSC “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM) invites those interested to apply for the LVM Open Forest Days events, which will be held in all LVM regions in April and May. The participants will have the opportunity to participate in forest cleaning, improvement of recreation areas and other clearings, as well as get to know forest management under the guidance of experienced forest experts.
“During the LVM Open Forest Days, every forest enthusiast has the opportunity to spend a day in the fresh air and, together with experienced forest experts, learn about forest management and gain an understanding of the forest as Latvia's largest renewable resource that helps mitigate climate change. There are many jobs in the forest, everyone can choose the one that suits them, for example picking up branches, learning about forest management or planting the new forest. When we ourselves get involved and invest our work in cleaning up the environment, we also treat it more responsibly and preserve the infrastructure created in the forest, which is available free of charge to all vacationers throughout the year,” says Edmunds Linde, LVM Forestry Planning Manager.
The LVM Open Forest Days events are offered free of charge. Participants should organise their own transportation to the venue and take along some snacks to maintain energy, as well as clothing suitable for forest expedition, and, of course, work gloves. Please apply for the event in a timely manner, as the number of places is limited.
