JSC "Latvian State Forests" manages more than 100 quarries, located in the company's territory, both deep in the forest and near populated areas. Quarry sites are carefully chosen in order to cause minimum threat to the environment, yet, at the same time, to satisfy the company and the national economy's demand for sand, gravel, and other mineral deposits.
