Latvian State Forest Research Institute “Silava”, Forest Sector Competence Centre, JSC “Latvijas Finieris” and JSC “Latvia’s State Forests” (LVM) in cooperation with other forest sector partners invite those interested to take part in the conference “Knowledge-based Forest Sector” to look back at the results of research carried out in the previous period and their contribution to the growth of the forest sector. The conference is to take place on-line on 26 and 27 January 2021; participation is free.
The conference programme includes reports, interviews, panel discussions on challenges in forestry, product innovation, environmental protection, the use of wood in construction and other topics. A detailed conference programme will be announced in early January 2021.
It is planned to publish a summary of scientific findings presented at the conference as a separate issue.
The forest sector is one of the key sectors of bioeconomy, influencing the overall performance of the country in achieving the goals in bioeconomy, circular economy, environmental protection, economic sustainability, climate and social areas.
