The application has come to an end for the open tender “Provision of Forest Restoration, Tending and Protection Services in 2021–2023” announced by JSC “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM), receiving more than 240 proposals. Compared to the first tender, which was organized in 2016, this year the interest of contractors has increased significantly.
“Latvia's state forests are a reliable and honest partner, offering transparent and predictable volumes of work and payment for the work done. Working in the forest provides an opportunity to organize the work yourself, the only thing that is required is the desire to work honestly and responsibly, accomplishing the task within the set deadlines,” says Lauris Ropājs, LVM Forestry Quality Manager.
The Procurement Committee is currently working on the evaluation of the submitted tender proposals in order to arrive at the results of the tender. The work on the evaluation of the proposals will take several months and the results will be announced in December.
LVM manages 1.6 million hectares of forest land, ensuring sustainable forest management. Forest planting, agrotechnical and young stand tending, protection of restored areas against forest animal damage – these are works that are carried out all year round. Doing this in the forest requires a motivated, knowledgeable and responsible worker.
Every year, LVM announces an open tender, with an opportunity for every economic operator to apply and work together to achieve the set goal – to grow a productive, healthy forest, which is valued by hikers and those who enjoy picking forest bounties during the period of forest growth, but when it reaches felling age, the stand brings the greatest economic benefits to the state, i.e., to the inhabitants of Latvia
