mezkopibas konkurss

Until 22 September, those interested are invited to apply for forestry works within the framework of a tender announced by JSC “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM) for forest planting, young stand tending, agro-technical tending and protection of restored areas in 2021–2023.

The scope of the planned forestry works is 94 325 hectares. This gives an opportunity to people with different skills and experience in forest work in all regions of Latvia; moreover, different sets of work allow you to work in the forest all year round. These are both seasonal jobs that can be arranged by the contractors in parallel with their daily work, as well as various permanent jobs.

“It is a regular job! Women should not be afraid to work in the forest. I like that working in the forest is possible all year round – we have no downtime or insecurity about if we have work tomorrow. Agro-technical tending actually means freeing of small trees from raspberries, ferns, grasses, shrubs that overgrow them. When you start working, it sometimes seems like the job is simply impossible to do. However, you just have to start working and in the end everything will be fine,” Dzintra Baltaisvilka shares her experience in performing forestry work.

TYPES OF WORKS OFFERED:

  • Forest planting and tending of young forest stands
  • Forest planting and replenishment
  • Forest tending
  • Forest protection
  • “We offer small volumes for beginners to give them a chance to try. The term of the contract is 3 years. This allows service providers to be sure that they will be guaranteed a job during this time, all service providers are informed about the amount of work seasonally, throughout the period. In order to perform the agreed amount of work, you can work on a freely chosen schedule, it is possible not to work in particularly unfavourable weather conditions,” says Edmunds Linde, LVM Forestry Planning Manager.

Proposals for the tender should be submitted in the Electronic Procurement System (EIS) by 22 September; 12.00.
