On 9 September at 10:00, an on-line public consultation will take place on the environmental impact assessment of the proposed activity “Sand Extraction at Lilaste II Deposit in the Southern Part of the 2006 Research Area”. The public consultation will be organized on-line by connecting to the Microsoft Team platform using the link published on the website of JSC “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM).
The extraction of minerals (sand) in an area of approximately 7.59 hectares both above and below the groundwater level is planned to take place at “Lilaste II” mineral deposit. The operation is expected to be periodic in nature, processing of mineral resources (sieving, rinsing) is planned as needed. LVM expects to extract up to 40 000 m³ of minerals per year.
