Valuing the merits of wood and its extensive options for use in our everyday life, JSC “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM) encourages everyone interested to take part in the exhibition of environmental art objects “The Land of Kurbads” (Kurbada zeme). The three best works will be exhibited at the Forest Industry Event “Latvian Forest Days”, which is to take place in Latvia's State Forests Nature Park in Tērvete - in the Land of Kurbads on 22 and 23 May. Ideas for the competition works should be submitted by 24 March.
The works submitted for the competition - proposals for environmental art objects - should illustrate the ways in which wood is used in our lives and represent its wide range of use. “Wood is a modern, practical and innovative material that not only offers a variety of ways to combat climate change and reduce the use of non-renewable resources on a daily basis, but also provides a solution for alternative ways of using wood. The ambitious forest industry event, which will take place in Tērvete already for the third year, is a place for both exploring the backstage of forestry and woodworking, and getting acquainted with the wide applicability of wood and its role in our daily life,” tells Normunds Namnieks, the organizer of the Latvian Forest Days.
