International forest industry conference “Climate, Future, Forests” was held at the House of Nature of the University of Latvia, and it brought together European experts, representatives of local ministries, scientists and industry professionals from Latvia, Sweden, Finland and other countries to discuss topical issues in the forest industry.
“This international forest industry event is held every two years. The conference has a practical purpose, which is to bring together active forest industry players to find answers to current issues. It is an opportunity for entrepreneurs to draw inspiration and gain new knowledge from industry professionals. This year, more attention was paid to climate change and related changes in forestry. The conference also addressed this issue at European level to highlight ideas and changes that will affect us in the future. One of the findings of the conference was the increasing role of the forest sector in the development of national economy and the need to inform and raise public awareness about sustainable and smart forestry,” tells the organizer of the conference Kristaps Ceplis.
