As technologies evolve and the importance of electronic commerce or e-commerce grows, for the first time JSC “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM) organized round timber auctions in e-environment, gathering almost 100 clients. The new electronic auction system provides speed, convenience and security in today's fast-paced era.
“Thanks to e-auctions, we are also developing our business in a virtual environment, enabling our clients to choose what they need by using modern technologies. Work on the development and improvement of the e-auction system will continue to ensure the highest system security standards, while providing users with a convenient and accessible service,” says Līga Ozola-Šmite, LVM Wood Products Production and Delivery Sales Manager.
Round timber e-auctions took place for seven days. The system registered more than 13 000 bids in 267 auctions, resulting in 555 000 cubic metres of round timber being sold. LVM plans to complete these deliveries in the first half of 2020 to the clients of the sales programme OPPORTUNITIES and sales programme GROWTH.
In 2015, LVM started to transfer collaboration and customer information management to e-environment. For this purpose, the information system “Laipa” was created, which collects up-to-date information about LVM customers: customer profile, basic data, contacts, concluded contracts, communication options.
Since 2017, for the convenience of LVM customers, the Cooperation Partner Portal (the website to which the customer connects) is available to submit information and documents for the qualification in the sales programme. So far, the portal is used by clients of our sales programme OPPORTUNITIES, sales programme GROWTH and sales programme STABILITY.
