In anticipation of the winter solstice, the Embassy of Latvia’s State Forests in Riga, 1 Vaiņodes Street, is already in the mood of the most beautiful season of the year. There is a wide range of Advent wreaths and festive decorations made from natural materials by LVM nursery and Kalsnava Arboretum staff members available to visitors. This is a great opportunity to bring light into your home and present the beauty of nature to your loved ones.
“Every year, our colleagues strive to create festive decorations and Advent wreaths that bring light, hope and fragrance of to everyone's home. These unique eco-decorations have been made with warmth and love. These items will serve and delight you from year to year, provided that they are carefully stored,” says Līga Urtāne, Consultant at the Embassy of Latvia’s State Forests.
The dedicated staff members of LVM nurseries in Smiltene, Latvia’s State Forest Kalsnava Arboretum, Kalsnava and Strenči nurseries have created various and unique decorations, such as cone pots, to store useful and even delicious things. Visitors are also offered traditional and practical festive ornaments that have an unconventional and special look, such as Advent wreaths made of silver fir, red hazel wreaths with hazelnuts or festive ornaments of closely woven larger and smaller cones. Traditional green coniferous wreaths are also available in various sizes and with a wide range of ornaments.

Unique accents for each wreath are given by black alder cones, juniper cones, chestnuts, acorns, walnuts, moss, rhododendron, wood peony, flower buds, peels and other magnificent wonders of nature.
Festive decorations or balls made of viburnums, honeysuckles, thujas, linden seeds, barberries, rowan and juniper berries - both bigger and smaller - are available. More creative personalities will appreciate the opportunity to make their own festive ball with their own hands, choosing just a decorative ball kit with certain seeds or cones. This year, LVM Kalsnava Arboretum also offers a cone box, which provides a wide range of cone uses: they can be used to decorate a festive wreath, to decorate a Christmas tree or to create a special ambience in the arrangement of premises. Whatever comes from nature is always useful!
Christmas time has started at the Embassy of Latvia’s State Forests with an Advent wreath workshop and a special exhibition. International exhibition “Winter. Tree. Spruce” inspires visitors to look at the spruce from an unconventional point of view: spruce that has been created by the hands of an artist and have not grown in the forest or in a pot. The exhibition is open until 5 December.
Customers of the Embassy of Latvia’s State Forests can use the car park free of charge by taking a one-hour pass.
The Christmas offer at the Embassy is growing day by day, offering new things to choose from. Fir trees in pots are already available in different varieties and sizes.
