In preparation for the annual LVM Forest Days events, JSC “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM) invites anyone interested to participate in a creative competition and make a sticker design “Forest Days 2020” on the theme “Young Stand”.
The best entry will turn into a LVM Forest Day Sticker, which will be given to each participant and will tell about the LVM Forest Days 2020 events. The winner of the prize will receive a longboard made from a birch tree grown in Latvia’s state forests, and will have an opportunity to fill a bus with classmates, family and friends to take a paid trip to the largest forest-related event in the Baltics - the Latvian Forest Days that is to take place in Tērvete on 22 May 2020.
The following should be presented on the sticker:
Please note:
The theme “Forest for Latvia. The Next 100” brought together more than 1000 authors who took part in the Forest Days Sticker Competition last year. It was not easy for the competition jury to choose the best entry, so the jury also nominated a winner of the Choice Award. Emīlija Prihodjko, a sixth grade student of Talsi Elementary School, was announced the winner of the Forest Days 2019 sticker competition. Eduards Jaujenieks, a 4th grade student of Aknīste Secondary School, received the Choice Award; it should be noted that two years ago he was also nominated for the Choice Award in this competition. Eduards, just like Emīlija, received a Latvian-made birch plywood skateboard from Lokalboards and his drawing also turned into a sticker.
Every year, LVM calls on schools and other nature enthusiasts to participate in the annual Forest Days events that take place in different places all over Latvia. This is already the third year that forest friends will have an opportunity to visit the largest educational forest event in the Baltics - the Latvian Forest Days, which is to take place in Latvia's State Forests Nature Park in Tērvete on 22 and 23 May. During the event, participants will have an opportunity to see with their own eyes how a small seed turns into a forest, to explore how the forest machinery works and, of course, to participate in the diverse activities at more than 100 exploratory forest stops.
