The beginning of November this year was the second wettest month in the history of climate observations. Due to the recent heavy rainfall, JSC “Latvia’s State Forests” (LVM) urges people to be cautious when moving along forest roads. Some road sections may be flooded and leaching may occur in such weather conditions.

Relatively warm and rainy weather affects the technical condition of gravel roads. During prolonged rain, gravel roads become wet, lose their bearing capacity, pits form more intensively, and roads become difficult to pass. Rain and humidity make it difficult to maintain the roads.
