The most popular brands in the Baltics and Latvia were announced at the awards ceremony of the Baltic Brands Top, which took place at the new cultural and entertainment centre “Hanzas Perons” on 3 October. For the second year in a row, JSC “Latvia’s State Forests” (LVM) won the first place in the Greenest Brand of Latvia category.
The greenest brand nomination is based on public perceptions about environmental friendliness of the nominated brands. Mangaļi and Neste won the second and third place in the Latvian Greenest Brands Top, which is made together with the Latvian Green Dot (Latvijas Zaļais punkts) trademark.
“I would like to thank people in Latvia for this high appreciation ranking Latvia’s State Forests at the top of the greenest brands already for the second year. It is a recognition for the Latvian forest industry as a whole and a dedication to our country's forests. The forest sector is one of the cornerstones of Latvia's Green Economy, providing one fifth of Latvia's export earnings. Moreover, as forests grow, approximately 25 million tonnes of harmful emissions are collected each year from the atmosphere in Latvia. It is a significant response to climate change that allows us to care for a greener future for our children and their children,” says Tomass Kotovičs, Head of LVM Communication Unit.
The Baltic Brands Top was organised for the first time, celebrating 15 years since the beginnings of the Most Beloved Brands Top. At the end of the event there was an awards ceremony for the most influential brands across the Baltics. Brands were awarded in eight categories, including the Most Beloved Brand, Greenest Brand, Best Baltic Startup and more.
