In order to raise students' awareness of the importance of forest management, as well as to provide an opportunity not only to improve their knowledge and give an insight into their possible future profession, but also to create a welcoming environment for new ideas JSC “Latvia’s State Forests” (LVM) organizes an annual scholarship competition for students of higher education institutions. This year, LVM Forest Scholarship is open for applications until 20 September.
The scholarships will be awarded to the most active bachelor's (starting from the 2nd year) and master's programme students who have proven their motivation to study and gain practical experience in the fields of LVM Forest Scholarship:
LVM scholarships are open to students of different higher education establishments who are studying or who are interested in any of the LVM scholarship areas. LVM forest scholarship programme is an opportunity to enhance students' motivation to develop their skills and abilities. The LVM Scholarship offers not only financial support, but also an opportunity to explore the forest sector as a whole, gain insight into a possible future profession, cooperate with professionals, create and implement new ideas.
This year, students have an opportunity to apply for the competition by writing a short essay on the topic “I and Forestry in the Future” or “I and Innovative Product Development”. At the end of the scholarship programme, the scholarship recipients will be required to make a video, presentation or prototype of an innovative product to convey the understanding and knowledge gained during the scholarship programme. The best work will be awarded the LVM Scholarship Award and will receive a one-off grant of 300 euros.

Applicants who will have prepared and submitted the required documents in accordance with the procedure set out in the terms of reference will be nominated for the next selection phase. LVM representatives will contact the students nominated for the next selection round by 8 October.
