The production of mineral materials continues in all mineral extraction sites managed by JSC “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM). Staring From September, the mining site “Saliena-Rīva” in LVM Ziemeļkurzeme region, located in Saka Rural Territory (Pāvilosta Municipality) offers a crushed sand-gravel mixture prepared according to LVM Forest Road Construction Specifications with granulometric composition that complies with the set limits. The site also offers high quality sand offal with a low dust and clay content, which can be used for road pavement.
A controlled production process of mineral materials and their mixtures is provided at 50 certified LVM mineral resources extraction sites in accordance with the construction product regulated system “2+” in accordance with EN 13242:2002+A1:2007 “Aggregates for unbound and hydraulically bound materials for use in civil engineering work and road construction”.
“The controlled production process from extraction to the finished mixture ensures the traceability of the origin and quality of the mineral materials and their mixtures. This is evidenced by the declaration of performance and the CE marking, which are particularly important in the market for construction products. The LVM controlled production process is certificated, which means that the manufacturing process of mineral materials and their mixtures complies with internationally recognised standards, which gives LVM partners access to high quality mineral materials and their mixtures,” says Kārlis Volfs, Production Manager at LVM Zemes dzīles (LVM Subsurface Resources).
Currently, mixtures of mineral materials are available at eleven mineral resources sites managed by LVM, where they are prepared in accordance with the Forest Road Construction Specifications and JSC “Latvian State Roads” Road Specifications. The production process has started and will continue at the mining sites Ucēni, Peilēni, Omuļi-2 and Ošinieki.
LVM manages more than 100 mineral extraction sites in the whole territory of Latvia, which are important for the needs of the national economy. Locations have been selected carefully to balance the economic needs of both the company and the state, without posing environmental risks.
