JSC “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM) invites travellers to use the new Jānītis road to make it easier and safer for them to get to the Jānītis Nature Trail in Tukums Municipality Zentene Rural Territory.

“In the past, visitors had to face problems accessing the trail because of the need to cross private properties. Now those who are interested have the opportunity to leave their car at the turnaround area of the new road and follow the directions of the recreation site to get to the nature trail comfortably and safely,” says Jānis Zitāns, LVM Zemgale Region Forest Management Planning Manager.

Jānītis Nature Trail is more than one kilometre long. It is designed to introduce nature lovers to the area's diverse terrain and forest ecosystem, which has not been significantly influenced by human economic activity over the last 100-150 years.

Walking along the trail, you can see the diversity of plants, mosses, lichens and insects, venerable trees, trees of impressive age, and the steep bank of the River Jāņupīte.
