Based on common values and sustainable goals in economic development, on 12 June 2019 Joint Stock Company “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM) was admitted to the Association of Building Material Producers.

“We are delighted that such a big and important company as joint stock company “Latvia's State Forests” has joined our association. We have a lot of common goals, a lot of common issues to deal with, such as the use of local building materials (instead of importing them from other countries), the reduction of energy costs that affect all Latvian companies, and finally the local labour force issue that requires competitive and good quality work environment for the local population,” tells Leonīds Jākobsons, Executive Director of the Association of Building Material Producers.

Since 2017, LVM Zemes dzīles (LVM Subsurface Resources) has been producing mineral materials, mixtures for road structures, as well as manufacturing mineral materials for asphalt concrete and concrete.

LVM Zemes dzīles business direction of the company is a relatively new market player, but we are firm and steadfast in preserving and enhancing our values. We will engage in the work of the association with our professional experience and the goal of sustainable and responsible mining site management, as well as the development of the mining and processing industry, making it understandable, transparent and predictable,” says Kristīne Ansone, Director of LVM Zemes dzīles.

Major manufacturers of the building materials industry founded the Association of Building Material Producers on 19 February 2010 with the aim of promoting state support to the industry, encouraging the use of local materials in the construction and introducing uniform quality standards for building materials. Companies producing high-quality products, using raw materials of local origin and treating their employees, cooperation partners and the state with good faith and dignity are invited to join the association.

LVM manages more than 100 mineral extraction sites in the whole territory of Latvia, which are important for the needs of the national economy. Locations have been carefully selected to balance the economic needs of both the company and the state for mineral materials and their mixtures, without posing any environmental risks.
