LVM Opens a Mining Site in Baldone Municipality

After construction of a road connection, a new JSC “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM) mining site “Ezeri– 2”, located in Baldone Municipality, Daugmale Rural Territory near the state road V9 Iecava - Baldone - Daugmale, has been opened.

The total area of the mining site is 8.4 ha; the estimated available sand reserves reach 593.25 thsd m3, and sand-gravel stocks - 208.39 thsd m3.

Currently, an area of 2.5 ha has been prepared for mining.

At the “Ezeri– 2” site, production of mineral material mixtures complies with the “4” system of regulated products in accordance with the following standards:

  • EN 13242:2002 +A1:2007”Aggregates for unbound and hydraulically bound materials for use in civil engineering work and road construction”;
  • EN 13043:2002, EN 13043/AC:2004 “Aggregates for bituminous mixtures and surface treatments for roads, airfields and other trafficked areas”;
  • EN 12620:2002+A1:2008 “Aggregates for concrete”.
  • This facility offers mineral materials (sand) and aggregates according to the customer's needs, taking into account the resources available at the mining site.

    LVM manages more than 100 mineral extraction sites in the whole territory of Latvia. Mining sites are carefully selected so as not to endanger the environment but at the same time meet the needs of the company and the economy for sand, sand gravel and other minerals.
