This spring, the production of mineral materials was started at the mining site “Pope IV - Rinda” in Ance Rural Territory, Ventspils Municipality, in LVM Northern Kurzeme Region.
At the beginning of May, after the completion of the production works, there will be a crushed sand-gravel mixture available which has been prepared according to the specifications of LVM forest road construction works with granulometric composition within certain limits:
The controlled production process of mineral materials and their mixtures at the mining site “Pope IV - Rinda” is provided according to the “2+” regulatory system of construction products in accordance with standard EN 13242:2002+A1:2007 “Aggregates for unbound and hydraulically bound materials for use in civil engineering work and road construction”.
The controlled production process ensures traceability of the origin and quality of the mineral materials and their mixtures from the stage of mining to the finished mixture. This is evidenced by the declaration of performance and CE marking, which is particularly relevant for the construction products market. LVM-controlled production process is certified, which means that the process of production of mineral materials and their mixtures complies with internationally recognised standards, which provides LVM cooperation partners with access to high-quality mineral materials and their mixtures,” says Kārlis Volfs, Production Manager at LVM Zemes dzīles (LVM Subsurface Resources).
LVM manages more than 100 mineral extraction sites in the whole territory of Latvia, which are important for the needs of the national economy. Locations have been carefully selected to balance the economic needs of both the company and the state for mineral materials and their mixtures, without posing any environmental risks.
