Earlier this year, the Road Specifications for 2019 were published, which describe the general quality performance requirements for road works, including quality requirements for mineral materials and their mixtures.
JSC “Latvia’s State Forests” (LVM) ensures compliance of its products with the applicable specifications and quality standards. “In order to ensure that mineral materials and their mixtures are suitable for buildings, LVM continuously monitors changes in the applicable laws and regulations and adapts to the market in time to offer the most up-to-date mineral materials,” says Rinalds Šimens, Quality Specialist at “LVM Zemes dzīles” (LVM Subsoil).
At the sand and gravel-gravel mining sites managed by LVM, the production process of mineral materials and their mixtures is certified and complies with the “2+” system of regulated products in accordance with the following standards:
The certificate is a testimony to the fact that the manufacturing process of mineral materials and their mixtures complies with internationally recognised standards, which gives LVM partners access to high quality mineral materials and their mixtures. The controlled production process from extraction to the finished mixture ensures the traceability of the origin and quality of the mineral materials and their mixtures. This is evidenced by the declaration of performance and the CE marking, which are particularly important in the market for construction products.
LVM manages more than 100 mineral extraction sites in the whole territory of Latvia, which are important for the needs of the national economy. Locations have been carefully selected to balance the economic needs of both the company and the state for mineral materials and their mixtures, without posing environmental risks.
