Informative Signs have been Set up at LVM Mining Sites

The informative signs at all mining sites in the territory managed by JSC “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM), where the extraction of mineral materials takes place or is planned to take place, inform about the safety measures and instructions to be followed in the respective territory. Similar signs have been set up on LVM forest roads.

One should be extra careful when in mineral extraction sites, wear personal protective equipment and follow the instructions on the informative signs.

“Such informative signs are needed to mitigate the threat to the safety of visitors and others, as well as for LVM cooperation partners to be able to find their way around the designated places,” says Rinalds Šimens, Quality Specialist at LVM Zemes dzīles (LVM Subsurface Resources).

LVM manages more than 100 mineral extraction sites in the whole territory of Latvia, which are important for the needs of the national economy. Locations have been carefully selected to balance the economic needs of both the company and the state for mineral materials and their mixtures, without creating environmental risks.
