The Forest Development Fund Starts Accepting Applications for Donations

Until 7 January 2019, the Forest Development Fund will accept applications for the receipt of a donation of JSC “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM), the purpose of which is to support the implementation of projects in the following targeted programmes:

1. Development of vocational education and higher education in the forest sector;
2. Scientific research necessary for the development of the forest sector;
3. Awareness raising and education and training programmes for forest owners, incl. informing and educating the general public and forest owners in periodical media and electronic media;
4. School youth and interest group education programmes.

Project applications will be evaluated in accordance with the evaluation criteria approved by the Fund Board: the relevance of the project to the targeted programmes, the topicality of the project and its impact on the long-term development of the targeted area and the forest sector, as well as the development of positive public opinion on the forest sector as a whole. LVM will evaluate the project applicants' experience, their ability to execute the project in a qualitative manner and achieve the planned results, as well as the transparency of the project cost estimate, the adequacy of the costs and the consistency with the planned results.

 To receive a possible donation please submit the following:

1. A motivated application, compliant with the requirements of the laws and regulations*. The application form for the donation is available https://www.lvm.lv/par-mums/sociala-atbildiba/ziedojumi/ziedojumu-politika">here;
2. A detailed donation cost estimate (dated, signed);
3. The decision of the Ministry of Finance to grant the status of a public benefit organisation to a public organisation representing the project (for all targeted donation programmes, except for the section “Informing and Educating the Public and Forest Owners in Periodical Media and Electronic Media”);
4. Information on the donation contracts concluded and executed with LVM or the Fund before.

Applications filed with LVM or the Ministry of Agriculture or the Fund in 2018 and complying with the administrative evaluation criteria (all the necessary documents have been attached to the application) do not need to be submitted again.
