On 17 June, Kalsnava Arboretum will host the eighth traditional Peony Festival.
The festive event will take place from 9.00 until 18.00. Musical group "RAXTU RAXTI", Madona Brass Band Orchestra under the guidance of Andrejs Cepītis, as well as the vocal ensemble of Līvāni Children and Youth Centre "Spurgaliņas" under the guidance of Skaidrīte Bulmeistere will take care of the musical accompaniment for the event, while dance ensemble "Pastalnieki" under the guidance of Aija Rūliete will give exciting dance performances.
The host of the event Gundega Skudriņa and the Director of the National Botanical Garden Andrejs Svilāns will hold the traditional auction of exotic plants, and visitors will have an opportunity to acquire such rare trees as, for example, the white fringetree (Chionanthus virginicus). A plein air that is to take place in the territory of the event will inspire visitors to enjoy both - the creative process and the splendour of nature; at the end of the plein air there will be an auction of the newly created works.
The youngest visitors of the Peony Festival will have an opportunity to have fun at the Amusement Park "Avārijas brigāde". There will also be various workshops for children and adults, such as environmental education games and large-scale outdoor games.
If the impressive collection of trees and flowers inspires you for new garden improvement works, Kalsnava Nursery specialists will be available from 10.00 to 17.00 to help you select and purchase the most suitable species of trees and shrubs, as well as to give advice on their cultivation and care.
Tickets are available for pre-sale:
