Forest Calendar: April

meza kalendars aprilis

The last days of April have arrived. April has always been known as the month of juices or sap, and, in deed, the circulation of tree sap means that the forest is waking up.

Invertebrates of different species, such as representatives of myriapoda, ticks and spiders are also up and ready for some action. The first flourishing caulescent plants and the flowering alders and aspen trees are a true delight to the eye; the yellow buds of goat willows and osiers make the world look warmer and sunnier.
