February is the month that our ancestors considered to be the most appropriate time for cutting trees. Although trees seem to be inactive during this season of the year, here and there one will spot hazel-tree catkins, or willow and osier flowers that are popularly known as pussy willows.
Meanwhile, animals have become more active. For some birds the mating time has already started, and they are making new nests. Also lynxes have began to think about offspring - February is the mating season for them too. Rut has reached its peak among wolves, who have already made stable couples who will be loyal to each other till death.
