LVM GEO Mobile Receives the Platinum Mouse Award

JSC "Latvia's State Forests" LVM GEO Geospatial Information Technology Development Team has received the prestigious Information and Communication Technology (ICT) prize Platinum Mouse 2017 (Platīna pele 2017) for its product LVM GEO Mobile.

The best Latvian ICT solutions were named in the 19th annual conference of the Latvian Information and Communication Technologies Association. The special prize of SIA "Latvijas Mobilais Telefons" (LMT), the main partner of the conference, was awarded to JSC "Latvia's State Forests" (LVM) for its LVM GEO Mobile application. Presenting the prize, LMT President Juris Binde, emphasised: "The Platinum Mouse is like the Oscar of the film industry. It symbolises tradition and succession. For our special prize we have chosen a company, which operates throughout the country, at the same time performing the functions of an innovation centre."

LVM GEO Mobile is a mobile app for Android OS and iOS that provides the opportunity for cooperation partners of JSC "Latvia's State Forests" (LVM) to receive geospatial work tasks, as well as helps anyone to find their way around in nature.

A wide range of background services are available in the app: orthophoto, orthophoto map in the infrared spectrum, satellite map, LVM background map, OpenStreetMap background map, and a terrain model that allows users to take a different perspective to the surroundings and to see what is not to be seen without the geospatial technologies.

The app can be downloaded free of charge from iTunes and Google Play stores.
