In November, the Patriot Month, to mark the birthday of Latvia, JSC "Latvia's State Forests" (LVM) invites NAF soldiers, national guards, NATO-deployed soldiers and youth guards to explore the most popular tourist facility in the state forests of Latvia - Latvia's State Forest Nature Park in Tērvete - free of charge.
A special event for anyone interested will be held in Tērvete on 11 November, the Day of Lāčplēsis, when the Foresters' Quarter will be opened in the new Dwarfs' Town "Cones". All day long, there will be number of different activities dedicated to the Day of Lāčplēsis: creation of a patriot's brooch, shooting with a bow and arbalest, trying a cannon, minting money and other activities together with the dwarves and other inhabitants of the Park. Everyone will have an opportunity to explore the ancient jewellery and weapon collection, make wooden bridges and houses, and taste different delicacies.
Presenting a certificate, all November long, NAF soldiers, guards, NATO-deployed soldiers and youth guards together with their families (mother, father and up to 5 children) will have an opportunity to visit Latvia's State Forests Nature Park in Tērvete free of charge.
Applying in advance, groups of pre-school and primary school children are encouraged to get involved in environmental workshops: Mārtiņdiena adventures at the Dwarfs' Cottage, celebration of the birthday of Latvia or a Christmas welcoming event. Families, in turn, will have an opportunity to walk along the fairy-tale trails, hold family celebrations in fresh air by a camp-fire, visit the Park's events or test their strength and agility taking a fun walk along a trail made of ropes and wood.
