Today, in a festive ceremony the Embassy of Latvia's State Forests was opened at 1 Vaiņodes Street, Riga. This will be a place not only for forestry enthusiasts, but also for those who enjoy gardening and leisure activities in the most beautiful recreational areas in Latvia.
Guntis Grandāns, Director of "LVM Sēklas un stādi" (LVM Seeds and Plants), says proudly: "The newly established Embassy is a fulfilment of a long cherished company's intention to create a place in Riga where nature lovers with a wide variety of interests and needs can come together. It will be a place for those who want to buy seedlings and get a knowledgeable expert's advice on gardening and forestry issues, as well as for those who are looking for stylish natural design items and unique gifts. The Embassy will also be open to those interested in leisure activities in Latvia's state forests - it will provide comprehensive information and an opportunity to buy gift cards to LVM free-time facilities."
At the opening ceremony of the Embassy of Latvia's State Forests, visitors could enjoy the beauty of peonies to mark the occasion that already on Sunday, 18 June LVM Kalsnava Arboretum will host the traditional Peony Festival. The peony has been chosen as a symbol of inspiration for opening of the Embassy. Artist Elita Patmalniece has created a magnificent peony composition, while guests had a unique opportunity to make their own peony jewellery. Horticulture enthusiasts highly appreciated the opportunity to meet Biology Doctor, peony collector and breeder Aldonis Vēriņš.
