From 1 May to 30 November, predatory fish anglers are urged to take part in the competition "Release the Mother!" (Atlaid mammu!) to be held in lakes managed by JSC "Latvia's State Forests" (LVM): Lake Kaņieris, Lake Lielauce, Lake Gulbji and Tērvete Reservoir.
To take part in the contest and joint the Community of Honorary Anglers, before catching predatory fish in the lakes managed by LVM, ask the boat station manager for a LVM fish measuring trough and get familiar with the rules of the contest and Honorary Fisherman's recommendations - they are described on each fish measuring trough.
Once you have a catch, measure it in the fish measuring trough, placing the fish with its head at the "0" mark, take a photograph and release the fish, if possible, filming the release process. The photos and videos then should be submitted by completing the competition application form.
Organisers of the competition would like to draw participants’ attention to the aesthetic qualities of the application photos: take care that the fish trough is cleaned of any algae, mud, blood, and the catch in it looks respectably. If you wish, you may place the lucky decoy next to the fish so that it is visible in the picture.
Anglers will receive the "Release the Mother!" Honorary Angler's badge for a correctly drawn up and filed application.
Every month, LVM and competition "Release the Mother!" supporters will present awards to the participants with the three longest pikes and the two longest perches caught in all LVM lakes together. In turn, at the end of the competition, the best anglers of the whole season will be awarded in these nominations.
This year's "Release the Mother!" competition is supported by: Salmo, Lucky John, Norfin, eBoat.lv, Rapala, Anglers Studio and Fishbon.
The latest information about the competition is available on the Mammadaba website "Atlaid mammu" (Release the Mother!) section.
