Trail Running Series "Stirnu buks 2017" to Start Very Soon

Already this week-end, on 15 April, the first race of trail running series supported by JSC "Latvijas valsts meži" (LVM) "Stirnu buks 2017" will open the trail running season of 2017 in the Blue Hills of Ogre (Ogres Zilie kalni).

In the seven races of the trail running series, participants will have an opportunity to enjoy the highest hills and the most beautiful nature trails in Latvia. For the first time in the history of the running series, champions - the fastest runners - will also be found among school students.

Apply for the "Stirnu buks" races in 2017 on the website www.stirnubuks.lv:

• 15 April - Zilo kalnu Stirnu buks (Stirnu Buks of the Blue Hills); start and finish: tourism, sports and recreation centre "Zilie kalni", Ogre.
• 27 May - Smeceres sila Stirnu buks (Stirnu Buks of Smecere Pine Forest); start and finish: sports and recreation centre "Smeceres sils", Madona;
• 1 July - Kornetu Stirnu buks (Stirnu Buks of Korneti), start and finish: Korneti, Alūksne Municipality;
• 29 July - Pokaiņu meža Stirnu buks (Stirnu Buks of Pokaiņi Forest) start and finish - "Senpokaiņi", Naudīte Rural Territory, Dobele Municipality;
• 19 August - Milzkalna-Āžu kalna Stirnu buks (Stirnu Buks of Milzkalns-Ažu Kalns); start and finish: Šlokenbeka Manor, Milzkalne, Engure Municipality;
• 23 September -Gaujas senlejas Stirnu buks (Stirnu Buks of Ancient Gauja River Valley); start and finish: Līgatne;
• 21 October - Karostas Stirnu buks (Stirnu Buks of Liepāja Military Port); start and finish: Military Port territory, Liepāja.

To get ready for the race and achieve the best results, there are video recommendations "ABC for a Successful Start" (tips for trail running, techniques for proper warm-up and stretching exercises) available for all runners:
