Together with our olympians!

Already on Saturday night, the Olympic flame will be lit in the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, opening the Games of the XXXI Olympiad. JSC "Latvia's State Forests" (LVM) wishes endurance and good luck to our 34 athletes who will compete in thirteen Olympic sports.

Latvian athletes will take part in the following disciplines: track and field, BMX and road cycling, freestyle wrestling, rowing and canoeing, judo, tennis, beach volleyball, weightlifting, swimming, bench shooting, sailing and modern pentathlon.

Since restoration of its independence, Latvia has won medals in all Summer Olympic Games; and only in Atlanta, in 1996 we had to put up with only one prize.

More than 11 000 athletes from 205 countries will participate in this year's Summer Olympic Games.

The Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro will run until 21 August.
