“Emotions” - an exhibition devoted to sports by Juris Bērziņš-Soms

Sports photography exhibition “Emotions” by Juris Bērziņš-Soms will be opened in JSC “Latvia’s State Forests” (LVM) central office (1 Vaiņodes Street, Riga) on 7 July, at 13.00. At the opening event, everyone will have a chance to meet sports and photography enthusiasts and a number of sportsmen captured in the photos.

The exhibition “Emotions” is about the joy of victory, satisfaction, frustration, and determination, about all the range of emotions experienced in sports. The author shows similarities and differences between Olympic and Paralympic games in more than 40 large -format colour photos. He shows adventures of Latvian professional sportsmen as well as reveals emotions of sports enthusiasts.

The author engaged in photography in 1968 when he was a famous athlete himself.

An important LVM field of social responsibility is support to public benefit projects in Latvia - every year the company donates part of its profit to nationally significant charity, culture, education and sports projects.

Donations to sports development is distributed among five sports organizations: the Latvian Sports Federation Council, the Latvian Olympic Committee, the Latvian Team Sports Association, the Latvian Paralympic Committee and the Council of Directors of Latvian Sports Education Institutions.
