On 14 June, volunteers from voluntary organisation for search of missing persons “bezvests.lv” joined Jelgava police to look for a woman who had been missing for four days. Using the new paramotor which was donated by JSC “Latvia’s State Forests” (LVM) as a donation for social projects, the missing woman was found safe and sound in an hour and a half.
“We are happy about such a successful outcome. It is great, that out support was useful and helped to embrace goodness and give a helping hand. We wish “bezvests.lv” team to continue their successful and valuable work, and help others using the parasailing opportunities,” says Tomass Kotovičs, the Head of LVM's Communications Department.

Pilot Guntis Skrodelis points out, that he was flying slightly over treetops, over twenty times circling around the identified place in Jelgava district till he noticed the missing woman. So far, there have been a number of trainings to search for missing people with a paramotor. The search is more efficient; parasailing makes it possible to scan difficult and untransparent areas where even specially trained dogs are not always helpful.

“This is the first case when after such a long time we have found a person safe and sound. It’s a completely different feeling to bring home a missing person alive. Thank you all for your support,” says the Head of “besvests.lv” Aleksandrs Faminskis.
In 2016, the donation of JSC "Latvia’s State Forests" for social projects reached 308 965 euros. It was awarded to 86 public benefit organisations, providing assistance to 61 578 people in Latvia, employing 302 persons and involving 839 volunteer helpers. Donations will reach the social benefit organisations with the help of the organisation “Ziedot.lv”.
