The annual Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry Fair Nature Expo 2016 will take place in Ķīpsala International Exhibition Centre on 22-24 April. JSC "Latvia's State Forests" (LVM) will tell the visitors of the fair about a modern forest management cycle, as well as about products and services offered to forest owners and forestry companies. At the LVM stand visitors will be offered information about the improved forest planting material, ornamental plants, the newly created forest management service, and state-of-the-art business system solutions, supporting all the processes of the forest management cycle.

LVM unit "LVM Sēklas un stādi" (LVM Seeds and Plants) manages the most modern tree nurseries in Europe, where, thanks to the decades-long work of Latvian forest scientists, a number of different high-quality seedlings are grown. They grow significantly better and reach the size of a mature forest much sooner. At the LVM stand visitors will have an opportunity to learn about the improved offer of the spruce, pine and hybrid aspen to forest owners. In gardens and forests people always look for something special, and notice the unusual; therefore also at the LVM stand guests will be able acquaint themselves with ornamental plants that are used to create the desired landscape.

Efficient management of forest lands ensures a higher property value and more income to the forest owner. Based on the decades-long experience, LVM will inform those interested about the new forest management services. Fair visitors will have an opportunity to obtain information about the basic principles of forest management, as well as a cooperation proposal in the field of forest management, both for those forest owners who would like to entrust all their forest management works to a cooperation partner, as well as to those who are only looking for advice from professionals. Those interested will be welcome to explore the interactive forest management cycle.

LVM business system solutions will provide an insight into the forest management process support systems that can be adapted to the needs of any forestry company. Visitors will have an opportunity to get acquainted with the geospatial information system that is used for the support of all processes of the forest management cycle.

LVM manages and administers 1.63 million ha of land of the Republic of Latvia, including 1.60 million hectares of forest land, of which 1.41 million hectares are covered by forest.  LVM implements national interests in forest management, ensuring preservation and enhancement of the forest value and generating the maximum possible income for its owner - the state.

Last year 23 million seedlings were planted in the areas managed by LVM, and exports of seedlings as compared to 2014, increased by 40%, reaching 12 million seedlings.
