LVM Employees find a stolen Timber freight

pm

Upon examining a suspicious truck, JSC "Latvia's State Forests" (LVM) employees found that the timber in the vehicle had been stolen. Further investigation revealed that it had been stolen from a log yard in a private forest.

It was early April, when in Bauska region a Ford car drew attention of employees of LVM Security and Control Division. The rear door of the vehicle stood open due to the large timber freight in the car. The thieves had tried to hide it by covering with a sheet.

The driver of the suspicious car was asked to explain the origin of the timber and specify the site where it had been logged. The log yard was located next to the forest area managed by LVM, on private land. With support of the employees of LVM Vidusdaugava Region, the owner of the log yard was found. After contacting the owner of the private forest and his arrival to the site, the suspicions of the LVM staff members were confirmed - the timber had been stolen from this log yard. The perpetrator was handed over to the police.
