In preparation for its 115th anniversary that will be celebrated this summer, LVM Jaunmokas Palace is experiencing a number of pleasant changes; the new state-of-the-art website is among them, allowing everyone interested to learn about the different opportunities offered in the Palace.
The new website www.jaunmokupils.lv not only offers a calendar of upcoming events, but also gives an insight into the centuries-long history of the Palace and its owners, as well as provides information on the aims and vision of LVM Jaunmokas Palace. There is also an exhaustive photo gallery and an opportunity to head for a virtual tour in the Palace salons and park.
During the past 12 years since Jaunmokas Palace is under the wing of JSC "Latvia’s State Forests" (LVM), the Palace has undergone a series of renovation works. The reconstruction that had been started five years ago foreseeing complete changeover of the interior of the White Hall, and restoration of stoves and fireplaces was last year completed, finishing with an English Art Nouveau interior exposition in the Palace salons. Year by year, as the old windows are replaced with historically more suitable ones, the external appearance of the Palace is getting closer to its original appearance. Last year the courtyard reconstruction project was started, and the restored parade stairs were opened to public.
It should also be pointed out that during the construction period the Palace could always be proud of its different innovations: the tower was once among the first water towers in Latvia, while the meals from the kitchen located on the ground floor were supplied to the dining room using a special lift.
The hunting lodge designed by architect Wilhelm Bockslaff is popular not only as a romantic location for a special celebration, but also as an opportunity to indulge in the magic of the unique, well preserved environment to learn about the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Palace and its surroundings.
In the nearly 10 ha of the Palace area there is also a beautiful park with tall ash trees and oak trees. The park is fascinating and welcoming in all seasons of the year.
Of the 12 houses built in the centre of the manor, only six have survived till today: the manor house, the barn, the horse stable, the milk house, the carpentry and the forge house. The buildings and park of LVM Jaunmokas Palace have been included in the List of State Protected Monuments.
On 10 July 2016, LVM Jaunmokas Palace will celebrate its 115th anniversary with an all-day-long garden festival offering a number of concerts, exhibitions, workshops, farmers' and craftsmen' fair, as well as various other activities best described with the motto of the Palace: the Jaunmokas palace - a place where time, nature, and music blend together.
