The new year has begun with a series of exciting events in the most beloved Mother Nature recreational facilities. To address the potential visitors and tell them about the various offers of JSC "Latvian State Forests" (LVM) leisure facilities, LVM Nature Park in Tērvete, LVM Pokaiņi Forest, Kalsnava Arboretum and other LVM managed facilities took part in the three largest international travel fairs held in the Baltic capitals: „Adventure” in Lithuania, „Balttour” in Latvia, and „Tourest” in Estonia.
LVM Nature Park in Tērvete, with its largest Fairytale World in Northern Europe located in a 1200 ha large forest area, presented itself to the travel fair visitors as the friendliest place for a family in Latvia. Visitors were informed about the events to take place in the park this year, as well as about the environmental education activities that are organised every month. A large share of the travel fair visitors had already visited the park or had heard about it; this is also shown by the statistics - in 2015 alone LVM Nature Park in Tērvete was attended by a record number of tourists - 149 thousand visitors. LVM Pokaiņi Forest presented itself as a place surrounded by mysteries, a home for mystical and enigmatic stones that are best to be explored in traditional Latvian celebrations and other events. Visitors had an opportunity to learn about the lakes managed by LVM - Lake Kaņieris, Lake Zebrus and other lakes, suitable both for those heading for the best catches, and those searching for peace and quiet. Families highly valued the leisure activities offered by LVM Recreation and Tourism Centres "Ezernieki" and "Spāre" giving a wonderful opportunity to live close to nature.
LVM Kalsnava Arboretum in International Travel Trade Fair "Balttour" worked in the stand of Madona county municipality, and in the travel fairs held in Lithuania and Estonia as a part of the Latvian stand, advertising itself as a nature facility, which is attractive for both - professionals and tourists appreciating nature and looking for outdoor leisure activities. Tourists from the neighbouring countries showed a great interest: negotiations were held with several travel companies, interested in creating new travel routes to Vidzeme, also including a visit to Kalsnava Arboretum; in turn, a radio journalist said that she would come to the blooming garden in May to make beautiful reportage to her listeners.
Fair visitors were offered a special booklet for children "Let's Go into a Fairy Tale Together!", as well as a number of other booklets providing information about LVM Pokaiņi Forest and Kalsnava Arboretum; fair visitors could also learn about the extensive outdoor leisure options offered in other recreational facilities managed by LVM.
During the last few years the interest of Lithuanian and Estonian tourists in recreation opportunities in Latvia has been increasing: last year 12% of the visitors of LVM Nature Park in Tērvete were Estonian tourists, and 84% - Lithuanians; therefore it is very important to meet the new potential travellers in person.
LVM warmly invites everyone to visit its various recreational facilities and have a great time!
