JSC "Latvia’s State Forests" (LVM) invites everyone interested to head for an interactive forestry cycle walk. Almost 30 active points with pictures, short films and expert stories will give answers to the questions about what, how and why is done by the state forest manager in the forest areas entrusted to it. It is an opportunity for anyone interested to have a look at effective and innovative management of forest lands.

The interactive representation of LVM forestry cycle is an exploratory conversation with everyone living in Latvia - to those interested, it provides an insight into the essence of sustainable forest management, telling the visitors about what and why is done in the state forests; in turn, for school students it serves as a comprehensive and educational material, as it helps to understand the processes taking place in the forest.

"Our aim is to introduce teachers, young people, school students and other persons interested to the almost century-long Latvian forest management traditions, revealing the endless possibilities for using the renewable natural resources and ensuring biodiversity in the forest. The visitors will also have an opportunity to learn about the extensive recreation possibilities and nature's bounty to be found in the forest. Balancing the different public interests, JSC "Latvia’s State Forests" plans and ensures forest management, that would both now and in the future give maximum added value and more new job opportunities," says Tomass Kotovičs, Head of LVM Communications Division.

Forest - the green gold of Latvia - unlike the various fossil fuels, is a renewable natural resource, and its skilful management ensures a greater benefit and a more efficient result. Forest is one of our main resources, and forest products are among the most visible export goods.

Our ancestors grew forests for us, and we are growing forests for future generations - our children and children's children.

Welcome to our interactive forest cycle!
