As part of the annual efforts for clean forests, JSC "Latvian State Forests" this year again supports the waste paper collection competition, organized by "Zala Josta". Titled "Tirai Latvijai!" (For A Clean Latvia!), it gathers together Latvian schools for increased understanding about recycling and use of recycled raw materials in the making of new products, reducing the increasing amount of waste and making the environment cleaner.
For the twelfth year in a row, the competition has hundreds of schools and thousands of children turning their attention to the need to recycle paper in everyday life. The 2015/2016 school year, all-round, vocational, and pre-school education institutions, as well as interest-related education institutions. Information about registration and competition at www.mammadaba.lv.
One of the strategic goals of JSC "Latvian State Forests" is to facilitate a considerate attitude toward the environment, which is why the company every year organizes and join a number of environment education projects, addressing the community - pupils, parents and teachers. Through various environmental education activities, LVM and Pigman urge residents to save forests, recycle, never litter - encouraging children to treat the environment with respect, facilitating an eco-friendly thinking, and increasing understanding about the precious as well as the unwanted things in nature – as something small or trivial today, could become troublesome tomorrow.
Participants were invited to join not only this competition by recycling waste, but also LVM's new eco-program for kindergartens – "Pigman's Detectives", Forest Olympics as part of the international environment education program "Learning About Forest", Mammadaba Master Class, and elsewhere.
