Thieves caught in Vidzeme and Zemgale forests

On April 8 in Vidzeme Province, State Police officers arrested a log transporter attempting to smuggle out felled logs of various size, owned by the JSC "Latvian State Forests" (LVM). The police detained three persons, one of whom is an employee of a company which offers services to LVM.

On April 21, State Police officers, in collaboration with personnel from LVM Security and Control Department, arrested a group of five who were regularly conducting  illegal logging in both private and state-owned forests in Iecava Region (Zemgale Province).
