Jelgava Spīdola Gymnasium students have gained recognition from JSC Latvia’s State Forests (LVM) for the most environmentally-friendliest product – wooden watch bands.
The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, in cooperation with Junior Achievement – Young Enterprise Latvija (JA-YE Latvija), organized a Christmas fair for all student enterprises at the fashion and entertainment centre Riga Plaza on December 14, bringing together 113 enterprises, 403 students and 112 teachers from 55 schools across Latvia.
Students’ products were assessed by experienced judges in several categories – the most socially-responsible student enterprise, the environmentally-friendliest product, the best sales team, the best gift, the most innovative business idea, best display stand. There was also a prize for most popular favourite. LVM was on hand to congratulate the winners of the environmentally friendliest product category.
The fair is an integral part of the program of student enterprises and its goal is to improve students’ business skills in the real world by allowing them to sell their products and services.
For the second year in a row, LVM bestows recognition for students capable of defining their products as environmentally-friendly.
