The competition for the largest fish caught in lakes managed by JSC Latvia’s State Forests continues. Not long until summarising of the results for the entire year. Nevertheless, a 8.040 kilogram pike pulled out from Lake Kaņieris in August is definitely a worthy contender. Our congratulation to the lucky angler – Jānis Rozentāls! Another angler, Ivans Ariko, lured a 1.540 kilogram zander from the depths of Lake Zebrus.
The competition will continue until the end of October. Only one species is evaluated in each lake – carp in Tērvete Reservoir, perch in Lake Lielauce, pike in Lake Kaņieris and Lake Gulbju, zander in Lake Zebrus.
The largest fish are weighed, measured, photographed and evaluated each month and the season’s results are summarised in November.
If you have reeled in a whopper, find the lake’s supervisor, weigh, register and take a photo of your catch with him.
