The joint-stock company “Latvia’s State Forests” (LVM) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Latvia University of Agriculture (LLU), envisaging 18 various cooperation aspects.
Taking into account how important it is for the sides to develop cooperation in higher forestry education and sciences (a memorandum on cooperation in scientific research was signed previously), LLU and LVM resolve to join efforts in organizing and performing joint activities to ensure comprehensive, complete and quality cooperation in training highly qualified specialists for the forestry sector’s needs.
The sides have agreed to cooperate in matters related to educational content, further educating academic staff, student education and LVM future employee training. LVM also resolves to cooperate on LLU Forestry Department strategic development matters. The company’s experts will participate in the development of educational content, methodical materials and will assess education quality.
LVM Board Chairman Roberts Stripnieks: “The cooperation with LLU is particularly important for us, since 70 percent of our employees have graduated from this university. The entire community will only benefit from qualified, knowledgeable and challenge-ready employees working in Latvia’s forests.”
