The dates have been set for the largest spring event of Latvian plant nurseries – the Latvian Plant Parade 2012; it will be held on Sigulda’s Svētku Square May 4-5.
The goal of the Latvian Plant Parade is to popularise Latvia-grown plants and their producers. The participants have one basic rule – they can only offer Latvia-cultivated plants. However, this rule applies only to the Plant Parades organised by the Society of Plant Nurseries. Therefore, by visiting the event, you will definitely be able to buy locally grown plants.
“Latvia’s State Forests” structural unit “Seeds and Plants” Director Guntis Grandāns: “Several participants will represent “Latvia’s State Forests” during the event. The Kalsnava Tree Nursery, whose plants are famous for their winter endurance, will offer its production. In addition, one of the world’s most modern tree nurseries – the Strenci Nursery – will provide insight into the latest technologies and their opportunities in growing forest plants. Kalsnava Arboretum representatives will entertain both children and adults with exciting and educational games.”
The two-day event is free of charge for the whole family! There is also a free parking lot for cars and tourism buses next to the Svētku Square.
The Latvian Plant Parade is organised by the Society of Plant Nurseries in cooperation with the Sigulda Regional Council.
