OPEN FOREST DAYS 2009 WELCOME SPRING!
As the spring sets in, Mammadaba and AS Latvijas valsts meži invite schools and other friends of nature to take part in the Open Forest Days throughout Latvia – to plant forest, set up birdhouses and clear the environment of litter. This year for the first time, the programme has a lot to offer: a total of 45 events will take place in the period between 24th March and 15th May.
This is the second year that AS Latvijas valsts meži organizes the Open Forest Days with a view to raise people’s awareness of the forest and the forest sector. Schools, youth organizations, families, institutions, companies and other interested persons are all welcome to apply for participation in the events. Dates and venues of the events are specified in the list. Participation is free. The participants will be provided with saplings, work gloves, sacks and other tools. Some events require certain things to be taken along as pointed out in the list. The participants will be responsible for their transportation to the event and for the snacks to keep them going. Please be aware that the number of participants in each event is limited, therefore you are advised to apply promptly by contacting the respective contact persons of AS Latvijas valsts meži forestry administration specified in the list.
