SWINE DISEASE SPREADS ACROSS LATVIA

Latvijas Valsts Meži is warning of several cases making them assume that there is a rapid spread of a new epidemic –Swine Disease. In the forest, on the beach, in camping sites and by the roadside pigs have appeared wearing trousers, dresses and swim-suits. The evidence gathered testifies to a certain law of nature - shortly before appearance of the odd animals people were noticed at the scene dumping their waste in nature.

* Case NR 1. Two residents of Vangaži Osvalds and Inta dumped several bags of waste in the local forest and were transfigured into two grunting piglets nuzzling in a pile of dirt.

Case NR 2. Ilze (31) and her two children threw away their ice-cream wrappings on the beach. Shortly after that there was a pig with two piglets seen on the beach.

Case NR 3. Business owner Juris Z. dumped four plastic bags while at picnic, was transfigured into a pig and bit his girl friend on the leg.

Only those who avoid polluting and dumping their communal waste into the forest, empty plastic bottles at the road-side, ice-cream wrappings on the beach, not even speaking of disposing waste from construction sites and refrigerators in places other than those specified for these purposes can be protected from Swine Syndrome.

The most well known victim of Swine Disease is Cūkmens (Pigman) - the character appearing in the campaign “Do not Pollute the Forest” organised by AS Latvijas Valsts Meži. On his private website (www.Cukmens.lv: Cūkmena leģenda) Cūkmens has recently confessed that he threw out litter in the forest once, that he then also spilled some oil after which the transfiguration had taken place. He could only become a man again after the forests of Latvia are not spoiled anymore.

Thus Cūkmens has already been actively fighting forest litter-louts for three seasons.
