KALSNAVA TREE PLANTATION WAS AWARDED FOR BEST SEEDLINGS IN LATVIA

At the end of April in Jelgava castle there took place an exhibition of Latvian seedlings, organized by Stādu audzētāju biedrība (Society of seedling nurseries). The subdivisions ”LVM Seeds and Plants” of JSC ”Latvijas valsts meži” (“Latvian State Forests”) (tree plantations of Kalsnava, Jelgava, Plavinas and Strenchu) also participated in the parade of Latvian seedlings.

The basic motto of the exhibition is trade with seedlings cultivated in Latvia. Also this year purchasers and small enterprises were offered different seedlings from local manufacturers – summer flowers, winter-hardy plants, fruit trees, roses, and even various vegetables. However, the main offer was presented, of course, by seedlings of decorative trees and bushes which were offered in total by 38 nurseries and individual manufacturers.

The Strenchu plantation was distinguished for the best decorated trading place, but Kalsnava plantation was awarded in its turn for better and most qualitatively kept during the severe winter seedlings.
