The New Environmental Game “Latvijas Meža dēkainis” – an Adventure on Holiday Routes
When planning a vacation during the carefree summer days, everyone interested is kindly invited to visit the well-equipped recreation areas and attractions in Latvia’s State forests, which are freely accessible throughout the year. To make the holiday routes even more exciting this summer, JSC “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM) invites you to go to nature with the new environmental game “Latvijas Meža dēkainis” (Latvian Forest Adventurer).
The environmental game takes place at 35 points in Latvia’s State forests between 1 July and 1 October.
To participate in the environmental game “Latvijas Meža dēkainis”, visit one of the recreational areas managed by LVM included in the list. When you arrive at your destination, look for a blue sign attached to a tree and scan the square code on it with your smartphone, then register for the game and answer the question correctly. Searching for answers will allow you to learn something new about forestry, nature, and the history of specific places.
During the game, by visiting at least three of the recreation areas included in the list and answering three questions correctly, vacationers will have an opportunity to participate in a prize draw, the results of which will be announced on 10 October.
To participate in the environmental game “Latvijas Meža dēkainis”, the participant needs a charged smartphone with unlimited internet connection. GPS (location detection) should be enabled on your phone.
Since the establishment of the company back in 1999, LVM has created and maintains more than 300 tourist sites freely accessible to both locals and visitors. Walking and cycling trails, various natural attractions, well-equipped recreation areas in the forest both by rivers and lakes, interesting cultural and historical monuments, wooden observation towers, marsh footbridges, and viewing platforms – this is how diverse the recreational opportunities in the Latvian state forests are.
