LVM Zemes dzīles has Received the Production Process Control Certificate for the Next 3 Years

For LVM Zemes dzīles to continuously prove its competence in the field of production of mineral materials and their aggregates, last November, a re-certification audit of the control of the production process of mineral materials took place at the mineral extraction sites managed by JSC “Latvia's State Forests” (LVM). The certificate confirms that LVM Zemes dzīles ensures high quality of mineral materials in compliance with environmental protection and work safety regulations.

“The production of mineral materials and their aggregates is an important industry that provides building materials for various infrastructure projects. Continuous control of the production process must be carried out to ensure the quality of mineral materials and compliance with laws and regulations. It includes regular inspection of both raw materials and finished products, as well as monitoring of production equipment and technological processes,” says Rinalds Šimens, Head of Efficiency and Quality at LVM Zemes dzīles.

The certification is based on the construction products regulations, the “2+” system of assessment and verification of durability of operational properties and harmonized standards:

• EN 13242:2002 +A1:2007 “Aggregates for unbound and hydraulically bound materials for use in civil engineering work and road construction”;
• EN 13043:2002, EN 13043/AC:2004 “Aggregates for bituminous mixtures and surface treatments for roads, airfields and other trafficked areas”;
• EN 12620:2002+A1:2008 “Aggregates for concrete”.

The certificate is valid for three years and is available to customers on the LVM Zemes dzīles website.

The audit was carried out by accredited certification body SIA “Bureau Veritas Latvia”.

At all mineral extraction sites managed by LVM – more than 100 – production process control is ensured according to the “4” system. This gives every buyer of mineral materials the confidence that the quality of the mineral materials has been assessed according to the standards and that the declaration of operational characteristics and the CE marking attached to them meet all the requirements of construction products.
