At the end of May, students and families from all over Latvia got to know the forest industry in the Baltics at the biggest forest education event – the Latvian Forest Days; the aim of the event is to raise public awareness of the importance of forests in mitigating climate change. 14.7 thousand guests of all ages visited the two-day festival in the Land of Kurbads in the LVM Nature Park in Tērvete.
Interest in the Latvian Forest Days is growing every year – both the number of participants and visitors of the event is expanding. Although most of the families who came to the event were from the immediate surroundings such as Dobele, Bauska and Jelgava there were also many visitors from Riga. At the more than 100 forest stops, everyone had a great opportunity to discover the role of the forest in the fight against climate change and to understand the impact of each forestry process on it.

An insight into the Latvian Forest Days 2023
The event is organized by JSC “Latvia's State Forests” in cooperation with the municipality of Dobele region, “Zaļa josta” and more than 100 forest industry organizations. In 2018, the Latvian Forest Days took place for the first time at LVM Nature Park in Tērvete, bringing together around 12 000 people.
